I hoped you’ve enjoyed my first installment on Singlish, published yesterday. While ideas are still fresh, this one 😉 is too good to pass up; so I’m reeling off a very short post today…
In Singlish, we can say: “He is so naughty one.” This number is used so frequently (as seen in Lesson 1 proper) and is very convenient (one)! But English is not far behind, when you think about it this way: “He is very naughty too.” Note the pun on “two”, so irresistibly WittyCulus style.
Thus, Singlish and English can be seen as closely intertwined, from this one-two relationship. It’s no wonder actually, as one came from the other one… ha, ha.
