Did you see this on your digital clock about an hour ago? The time 12:12:12 has come and gone on this special day 12/12/12 that is today. Another rare moment, much like the one on 11/11/11 at 11:11:11, which we talked about last year in this WittyCulus post. My, how time flies!

This is yet another significant moment for quiet contemplation, if you dig such special occurrences. There won’t be another day and time like this for another 88+ years — the year 2101 is just too far out. Luckily, we still have another nice date just 8 days away before the drought hits. Are you ready for 20/12/2012?

Note: 20/12/2012 is December 20th in British-style date format.

What’s so special about “12/12/12”? To me, it’s plainly obvious what the numeric string “12” (read one-two) is saying — something about a certain desire that’s been stirring for a long time. If you are the sort who’s wont to make new year resolutions, then thoughts of “how I want to do this and that” and “this is what I want too next time” wouldn’t be new.

That’s how I came up with the idea for the title of this post. It’s a play on the sound those 2 numerals make in “12/12/12”, giving us a clear message to stay focused and determined to succeed in whatever we pursue. If there are things you want too, you know you gotta want to work on it; so, why not turn this into a habit such that you are wont to think and do this way always?

And there’s no better day than today to get that kind of thinking started and going for good. Don’t just wish that something would happen for you — make it happen with certainty. There’s truth in the saying “God helps those who help themselves” I’d say.

While we are at it, there’s always room for some WittyCulus fun like this post. If time permits, I’ll see you around when the twentieth day of this month arrives. Remember to make the most of that special day too (Day 2?). I know I will.
